We woke up to a much clearer morning, so before heading off we decided to pay the glacier another visit. This time it was much less crowded and when we did the walk up Sentinel rock we had the place to ourselves for a little while.
Drew fell asleep during the walk, but despite my best efforts woke when I put him in the car, so we had a few more car tears. We've resorted to playing him videos on the tablet, which works like a charm even if we do feel a bit guilty. We now have countless hours of Pepper Pig in German for him to watch (and I secretly don't hate it either).
Our mid drive hike today was the Hari Hari coastal walk. Unfortunately we were there are high tide so we couldn't do the whole loop (would have been a bit long anyway) but what we did see was quite enjoyable.
Drew got out for a long walk too, and we managed to get him to sleep for the next leg of the journey.
After stocking up on food in Greymouth we headed to our Airbnb for the night. Our host was a little late so we went for a walk on the beach across the road. It was a beautiful deserted beach with lots of driftwood and big blue stones.
Then we went back to the little cottage we were staying in for the night. It was a small room detached from the main house, but our hosts were lovely and let us use their kitchen for dinner. The house was surrounded by really lovely gardens and Drew enjoyed watching the chickens.
