South Island Adventures Day 11: Abel Tasman walk, Anchorage to Marahau

Today, we went on a boat!
The water taxi took us from Marahau to a place in the Abel Tasman National Park called "The Anchorage", from where we walked back to Marahau. To our surprise, the boat ride even included a brief introduction to the local flora and fauna. We visited split apple rock, checked out the bird-life and even saw some seals playing around at the local colony.
Having been dropped us off at the beach we were ready to hit the track
As always, views were great and we encountered yet another Weka bird.
Once we got to the top of the hill, Lizzy spotted a sign that said "Beach", so she decided to take to 500m track all the way down the hill and up again. It hurt :)
Back in the forest, we found the occasional water "fall"

It was a long but really rewarding day and a fantastic walk
