I've been really busy trying to get stuck into my field work. I visited two sites out near the Waitakere ranges on the Wednesday, and had to go back out to pick up my "worms", so I thought it would be a good chance for the family to do a little hiking out in the national park!
First stop a quick stop at my field site and then we went to the the visitors centre which had its own spectacular view and some good advice for local hikes.
We chose a nearby hike along a river with a dam and a picnic spot at the end.
Drew fell asleep in the carrier in the last 20min of the trek and then slept all the way through the visit to my other site and ALL the way home in the car! an ideal day out really!
