We visited the glow worm caves on our first day in Waitomo. It was quite a bit group tour that you have to go on, and Drew was REALLY good for the first half (especially considering it was cold and dark) but during the boat trip at the end (when they turned all the lights out and we were supposed to be quiet) he got a bit upset... and screamed a lot. Not a highlight of our parenting career so far.
So we cancelled our tour to another cave for the next day and went on a nice hike instead. It was a good choice and Drew sat happily in the carrier for the whole walk.
